About me

Welcome to my research portfolio and professional platform.

I am Olasunkanmi Arowolo, a journalist, media scholar, and policy communicator. My work focuses on the connection between poverty, politics, and media narratives in Africa. Specifically, I study how the press and public conversations influence social welfare and poverty reduction in Nigeria and beyond.

I am currently a Post-Doctoral candidate with a PhD in Journalism (thesis submitted, viva voce upcoming). I have a strong academic background with growing peer-reviewed publications. I also have extensive international experience teaching at university level, including in the UK.

I design and lead independent research projects using qualitative methods like interviews, focus groups, and systematic literature reviews. I remain actively involved in the UK journalism field through both research and teaching.

This website showcases my doctoral research, publications, data projects, and media activities. It is also a space for sharing ideas on responsible journalism, African public policy communication, and how poverty is framed in the digital age.

Please explore my latest academic papers, book chapters, models and frameworks, opinion articles, policy briefs, public talks, and ongoing research. I welcome opportunities for collaboration, consultation, and scholarly discussion.
